Reigning World Champion Casey Stoner was joined by Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi, Colin Edwards and Stefan Bradl in the press conference which took place shortly before the first practice at the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar.

Repsol Honda rider Stoner will have all eyes on him as he starts the defence of his title at a track at which he has won for four of the past five seasons, but the Australian is in no way taking anything for granted as the 2012 season gets underway.

Q: Tough race, Jorge, especially at the start. You made a good start, but people seemed to come racing past you down into Turn 2.

A: Yeah, you know, my logo is "Por Fuera" [around the outside], but today they make por fuera to me. So the start with the class was not bad, but I close too much throttle into this corner, so they overtake me...
