Ducati Team ready for next step at Estoril
The Ducati Team has transferred to Portugal for the third round of the MotoGP™ World Championship at Estoril to build on their mixed performances at Jerez.
In twelve premier-class races at the circuit, Valentino Rossi has won five times and had additional podium finishes, while Nicky Hayden’s best finish there was a fourth place in 2007. The team will remain at the track on Monday for a post-race test.

Rossi undergoes successful operation
Valentino Rossi underwent a small operation this morning at Cattolica’s Cervesi hospital to remove the rod that was inserted in his right tibia following his practice crash at the 2010 Mugello GP. The injury is now completely healed.

Rossi and Hayden in the spotlight at Wrooom 2012
Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden were greeted with snow, fans and a frenetic media welcome upon their arrival Monday evening for the twenty-second edition of the Wrooom Press Ski Meeting. The two attended a meet and greet session alongside Scuderia Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa as they posed for photographs in front of the waiting press.
Yamaha Loses Petronas Sponsorship
Calling it the “natural conclusion” of their partnership, Yamaha’s MotoGP team and Malaysian oil giant Petronas have split ways after three years of racing sponsorship. Concluding a deal that is reportedly worth $8 million a year to the factory MotoGP team, Yamaha’s loss of Petronas will surely be felt in the team’s pocketbook, assuming of course that the Japanese manufacturer cannot replace the company with another on its sponsor roster.

Alvaro Bautista experiences Africa with Riders for Health
In November 2011 Spanish MotoGP star, Alvaro Bautista, joined 18 other adventurers, including grand prix legend, Randy Mamola, on an adventure of a lifetime. Alvaro saw how he and the other MotoGP riders are helping people in Africa receive reliable health care.
Hayden injured in training accident
Hayden was training at a private indoor flat track facility, riding a motorcycle for the first time since breaking his scaphoid at the Valencia Grand Prix on November 6. He underwent an X-ray and CAT scan on the same day he was injured, and he has since undergone an MRI.
Randy de Puniet to MotoGP Aspar Team in 2012
The Aspar Team has joined the list of teams to compete the 2012 season with CRT (Claiming Rules Team) bikes. In addition, the team will have two riders, Randy de Puniet and Aleix Espargaró.

All star line up at the Monza Rally Show
The 2011 edition of this classis race on four wheels, held November 24-27 at the Monza circuit, will have an extraordinary line up of participants and will include a tribute to Marco Simoncelli.
The Monza Rally Show that begins this week at the historic Italian circuit includes a spectacular list of participants that includes 8 World Rally champions, 5 European Rally champions, an IRC Rally title holder, 11 champions from the Italian Rally series, 10 World motorcycling title champions and 3 title winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Race Direction press conference: Marco Simoncelli
Members of the Race Direction Paul Butler, Claude Danis, Franco Uncini and Javier Alonso were joined by Medical Director Michele Macchiagodena at a press conference to explain the circumstances of Marco Simoncelli’s death at the Sepang circuit on Sunday.
Marco Simoncelli succumbs to injuries at Sepang
The race was stopped immediately with the red flag and Simoncelli was transported by ambulance to the circuit medical centre where the medical staff worked to resuscitate him.
Despite their efforts, Marco sadly succumbed to his injuries at 4:56pm local time.
Everyone involved in MotoGP extends its deepest condolences to Marco’s family, friends and team at this tragic loss.
Cancellation of FP2 sessions in MotorLand
The Gran Premio de Aragón MotoGP and Moto2 FP2 sessions were cancelled Friday due to an electrical shortage.
The power issue was caused by the failure of one of the power transformers at the track, leading to a substantial blackout at the venue.
Yamaha complete second successful 1000cc test in Misano
Yamaha Factory Racing riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies had their second opportunity to ride the 2012 1000cc YZR-M1 today at the Misano circuit in San Marino. The test followed Lorenzo’s flawless Grand Prix win yesterday, his second Italian victory of the season. The bikes tested were the same as first used in Brno in August, with minor changes to set up and electronics for the tighter, twistier Misano circuit.
Fall spoils qualifying for Rossi, Hayden eighth
After taking a nice step forward in the third free-practice session this morning, a fall during the fourth lap of qualifying affected Valentino Rossi’s performance in Indianapolis. Although the Italian immediately returned to the garage, he could no longer use his first bike or its set of fresh tyres. He’ll have to start from the fifth row of the grid tomorrow. Nicky Hayden was able to improve his situation by over a second and a half compared to Friday, posting the eighth-best time. He’ll start his home Grand Prix from the third row.
